Rimmel Match Perfection 2-in-1 Highlighter & Concealer - REVIEW!

Hi, everyone! How are you all keeping? Today, I'm coming to you with a review. I have previously reviewed a product - Simple Micellar Cleansing Water, which was an absolute HIT for me, but this product... oh well.

I bought the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer because I read amazing reviews about it and so many YouTubers recommended it. This is how to looks:

What the brand says about the product:
Conceals signs of fatigue. Highlight & Illuminate eye area. Soft precision brush for the delicate under-eye area. Contains an oxygen complex. Lets the skin breathe.

In short, the brand promises to:
  • Conceal signs of fatigue
  • Highlight and illuminate
  • Delicate for under-eye area
  • Lets the skin breathe.

What do I say about this product:
Umm... I don't know what to think about this product. I don't know what the hype is all about. But okay, let me start from the beginning. This concealer does three out of the 4 things mentioned above. It conceals, highlights & illuminates and lets the skin breathe. Which is good enough for many people. However, from day 1 of using it, I noticed something that never happened to me when using concealers. It started to get cakey and get into the fine lines under my eyes. Even though I blend the concealer into my skin very carefully and very well it still does that. Secondly, the application. That brush drives me mad and it's definitely not delicate for the under-eye area. It's difficult to extract the product from the tube onto the brush. I would prefer if the concealer had a wand like the Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer or the Essence Stay All Day concealer which I have mentioned in my Face Essentials post. And lastly the price... This concealer costs €7.99. It's not worth the money in my opinion. If you want a good concealer, get the Catrice one for half the price. I will continue to use it until I get my hands on one of the two that I have mentioned before.

To conclude my little rant, it's a nay nay for me. I won't buy it again.

What do you girls think? Did this concealer work for you?

  2. Finding a good under eye concealer is a true challenge! It has to cover well, but only with a thin layer that doesn't cake or gather in creases.
My favourite is Loreal True Match (also called perfect match) Highlighting Concealer. It has a delicate texture and is as good as Bobby Brown equivalent, may be even better.
Good to know to avoid this one. Looked like those bristles are quite rough, even on the swatch on your hand. Thank you!

    1. Exactly, I was so disappointed in this one. So many people rave about it, but it's not that great. Thank you for the recommendation, I will surely check out the L'Oreal True Match Concealer. I have actually heard so many good things about this line. I'm glad I could help! :)
