UNBOXING: GlossyBox August 2016

Hello everyone! How was your week? I'm back to work after almost a week off. It's good to be back. Not for long, though... I'm finishing my internship in two weeks and I'm back to college. I really don't want to go back but it has to be done. Anyways, today I'm coming to you with my August GlossyBox Unboxing. This month is a collector's edition and to be honest, I'm not a fan of these. I think that the special edition boxes are not of the best value and I just prefer the regular boxes.

1. RAE FEATHER Mini Monogram Pouchette - €22.60

So the first thing in my box is a designer makeup bag. I personally am not into makeup bags because I don't travel that much, but that's just me. It is a pretty bag and I will be using it when I travel but it just doesn't happen that often.

2. MUA 'Starry Night' Eyeshadow Palette - €4.50

Now, this palette caused a lot of havoc after people received their boxes. Turns out, they messed something up in the GlossyBox HQ and we all received different palettes than what we chose originally. Yes, I was allowed to choose my own eyeshadow palette and you can imagine that I was quite disappointed when I received a different one. I was just about to contact GlossyBox about this issue but they already sent out an email apologising about this mess up. And guess what? We will be getting the correct palette in the next box as an extra! This news made my day. In terms of quality of the palette, I wasn't expecting much but when I stuck my finger into the shades I was like "WHOA!". The shadows are so buttery and so pigmented! I can't wait to get the correct palette.

3. MUDMASKY Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask - €23 for 20ml

This is something that I am excited about. Even though I don't do face masks very often I like to have them in my collection for the times when I want to do them. From the leaflet that I got in my box, I can see that this is a very natural product. Natural products are always good for your skin so I'm all for it.

4. SPA TO YOU Deep Pore Facial Cleansing Brush - €7.90

I'm always happy to see tools in my box. Before, we got the Konjac Sponge which I'm still using, then we got that hairbrush which is amazing and this month we got a cleansing brush. I think it's a super cool idea. Now, I have tried it and I have to admit that it's harsh on some parts of my face. I figured that the best way to use it is on your nose, on the inner parts of the cheeks (i.e. where most of your pores are) and delicately on the middle parts of the forehead. This is where I have the least sensitivity and my skin in the thickest. I can't wait to see the result!

5. COWSHED Wild Cow Invigorating Body Lotion - €2.56

Guys, look at the brand name and the name of the product... Was someone drunk when they came up with that haha. I think it's so funny. I'm quite content with this product because I like to use body lotions that are in small tubes or bottles. I feel like I can never finish a huge bottle of body lotion, so a smaller sized lotion is perfect for me!

So these are all the products that we got in this box. The total value of this box is €60.56. Like I said at the beginning, I am usually not impressed with the collector's edition boxes and to be honest, I'm not too impressed with this one. I will, of course, use every product, I always do but I was hoping for something more. For example, I would prefer to get something else instead of that pouchette. And let's not forget the palette drama, but at least this is going to be fixed.
