MAKEUP HAUL: Drugstore - Essence | Catrice | Bourjois | PS

Hi all. How was your weekend? Today I'm coming to you with a makeup haul. I love shopping for makeup, it's like an obsession ;) For my birthday, I got a Penneys giftcard from my boyfriend's parents and I decided to use it up on some affordable makeup... you can never have enough of it. Get yourself some popcorn and a coffee because it's a long one.

I decided to stock up on my foundations. As you may know from my Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation Review, it is my holy grail, favourite foundation of all times and I will always continue to repurchase it.
However, I would not be a beauty blogger if I didn't try out new foundation. Right now, I am into the light/medium coverage foundation. I think they are so much more flattering than the full coverage foundations. Anyways, I got the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation. I hope this one is just as good as the OG Healthy Mix foundation. I paid €14.99 in Boots for this base.

The second foundation I decided to get is the Essence Pure Nude Foundation. Girls, I heard so many good things about this foundations. I can't wait to use it and review it for you. This base costs €4.80.

Lastly, I decided to finally get a setting spray. I ended up going with an affordable option at first. You know, see what it's all about. I have my eye on the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, so I'm hoping to get it soon ;) The setting spray I got is the Essence Keep It Perfect Makeup Fixing Spray and it costs €3.80.

While in the shop, I had a huge dilemma. I couldn't decide whether I wanted the Catrice Prime and Fine Professional Contouring Palette or the Wet'n'Wild Contouring Palette. I was at both counters for several minutes trying to figure out what I wanted. What made me go with the Catrice Prime and Fine Professional Contouring Palette is the highlighter. It's a beautiful champagne shimmery highlight, that I almost instantly fell in love with. The contour shade in this palette is pretty much cool-toned so it's perfect. The RRP is €4.95.

The next thing I bought is the Essence Silky Touch Blush in 100 Indian Summer. Look at that shade. It's a beautiful dusty pink / mauve shade. This, like the Pure Nude foundation, is apparently a hidden gem. I can't wait to test it out. This blush costs €3.10.

Excuse the flash... the packaging is so reflective.
I admit, I went all-ham with the lip products. I was going to get a lipstick too - the Wet'n'Wild Bare It All Lipstick, but it was out of stock... I will be in town on Wednesday so I will try and get my hands on it. I got two Essence Lipliners in the shades 15 Honey Berry and 06 Satin Mauve. Each lip liner was €1.30.

I also got the PS... Lipliner Pencil in the shade Nude. I already own a PS Lipliner in the shade Red and I like them. This shade seems like a dupe for the Candy K Lipliner, but I still need to check this out. I paid €1.50 for this liner.

Lastly, I got myself the Catrice Beautifying Lip Smoother in the shade 040 Coffee To Go. This wasn't really on my list, but I'm so glad I got it. First of all the colour is so pretty. After getting the Kylie Lip Kits, which you can read all about in my Kylie Lip Kit First Impressions post I fell in love with mauve / nude lip colours. Secondly, it is super hydrating. In fact, it does actually beautifies and nourishes my lips. It costs €4.00 and I would definitely recommend this product.

Same here, wish I had a proper camera...
Last three things, I promise! Can you imagine that I didn't have a black eyeliner? I remember that I had one from Catrice but I don't remember what happened to it. I got this Essence Longlasting Eye Pencil in 01 Black Fever. I mean, there is nothing much to add here, it's just an eye pencil that I would use in my waterline. I just hope it doesn't smudge. This eye pencil costs €1.90.

Secondly, I got the Essence Make Me Brow in 02 Browny Brows. Apparently, this is a dupe for the Benefit Gimme Brow which I actually own. This is the main reason why I bought it. I want to compare them for you and suggest which one to go for. This brow mascara costs €3.10.

Lastly, I got the Catrice Prime and Fine Eyeshadow Base. At first, I thought these kind of products are a little bit gimmicky, because I thought that a concealer would work just fine. However, I heard so many people rave about this product and comparing it to the Urban Decay Primer Potion that I had to get it. We'll see if it prolongs and intensifies the eyeshadows like it claims to. This base costs €4.00.

So that is all for today! I hope you enjoyed this post. As you can see I focused on Essence and Catrice because I had so many products on my list that I wanted to try out from these brands. Plus, both of those brands are affordable so even if they turn out crap I'm not going to regret spending €4 on a product ;)
Let me know in the comments down below what products from this haul have you used and what is your opinion on them. Thank you all for reading! Talk to you all on Friday.
